Welcome to a surreal alternative reality where face slaps are currency, kisses are a capital offence, garlic is the dominant flavour and dental hygiene is a black-market trade. Narrated by Vicky Krieps (The Dead Don’t Hurt, MIFF 2024; Corsage, MIFF 2022) and starring Zar Amir Ebrahimi (Shayda, MIFF 2023; Holy Spider, MIFF 2022) and Luàna Bajrami (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, MIFF 2019), this absurdist marvel is by turns ravishing and comical – a romantic tribute to those who dare to challenge the status quo. Alexandre Singh and Natalie Musteata’s short won the Grand Jury Prize for Live Action Short at AFI Fest 2024.
