Made for the TV program Cinéma cinémas, Lettre de cinéaste features Chantal Akerman (occasionally appearing with a drawn-on moustache) onscreen alongside her frequent collaborator Aurore Clément (Les Rendez-vous d’Anna; Toute une nuit; Family Business; Demain on déménage), playfully probing big questions about cinema and personal history. Together they act out the hows and the whys of filmmaking, and Akerman ponders what to do when your friends just want you to make Indiana Jones.
