Australian filmmaker Margot Nash (We Aim to Please, MIFF 2022; Vacant Possession, MIFF 1995, 2021; The Silences, MIFF 2015) reimagines her own archival footage for this poetic essay on resistance amid instability.
Nash’s latest work is a dark, poetic meditation on history, spanning everything from First Nations peoples and WWII to the #MeToo movement and the conflict in Ukraine. Recycling footage from her archive, the revered filmmaker reflects on the global rise of the far-right, war and the nuclear threat, the environmental crisis, racism, colonisation and male power.
