<p>Mamiko Motto is a DJ, producer, composer and founder of the GASS record label. Her leading radio show on NTS is recognised for breaking some of the biggest underground artists in electronic music and she is, as Frank 151 describes—“A Swiss Army knife of the music industry.” An international touring DJ, Mamiko produces and composes under various monikers including Wednesday Nite, with previous releases on Warp and Big Dada. Her sound design for video games has been featured in “Butterstar Galactica” by Hudson Mohawke and other audiovisual projects. GASS was launched in 2015.</p><p>In 2009, Mamiko Motto was commissioned to create a soundtrack for the opening ceremony of acclaimed Amsterdam art event Museumsnacht, collaborating with New York artist, Theo Watson. In 2010, Mamiko’s record for Warp’s 20th anniversary compilation was created in collaboration with Hudson Mohawke under her Wednesday Nite Moniker and she’s brought the name back, with an upcoming release on Big Dada—a sister label of Ninja Tune. The same year, Mamiko teamed up with Femi Adeyemi to set up acclaimed London based radio station NTS, where she broadcasts her show featuring new, underground music.</p><p>In 2013, Mamiko released an exclusive 14 track compilation on All City Records called AMADA, to critical acclaim. In 2014, she recorded and engineered two tracks for the Steve Reid Foundation curated by Emanative, released on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings. She has mixes featured on Dazed &amp; Confused and The Fader, as well as playlists for fashion brands including NastyGal.</p><p>Mamiko runs a London residency at Miranda Club at Ace Hotel and curates various “Mamiko Motto presents” events in Los Angeles, New York, Berlin and Paris. After graduating from SAE in Audio Engineering &amp; Arts in 2015, she launched GASS records, a label that is a reflection of her research on humanity, technology and sexuality.</p>
