Voodoo Souljahs is a project stablished in Bogota Colombia South America in 2005.
Its unique sound is composed of a mixture of different urban rhythms such as Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop, voyaging through the sounds of the traditional African/Colombian Pacific Coast rhythms and melodies. Embracing the blend of musical and ethnic backgrounds of its members.
Voodoo Souljahs music is about love, unity, positive vibration, reconnection with the nature, planet earth protection, mind evolution and peace.
Its main influences are the whole Reggae movement from Jamaica and so the Hip Hop Culture.
Voodoo Souljahs have been performing in international and local massive music festivals including Manifesto Fest in Toronto Canada 2009 and 2010, South by South West Austin TX 2010, SUMAR Fest in Buenos Aires Argentina 2012 and a Tour by Ecuador and Chile in 2007/8, Rock al Parque 2006, 2009 and 2011, Altavoz Medellín 2007, Nuestra Tierra RCN 2010, Pereira Convivencia Rock 2011, Hip Hop al Parque 2010, La Fête de la Musique Bogotá 2010, Manizales Grita Rock 2010, Petronio Álvarez Cali 2011, Black History Month USA Embassy in Colombia 2011, BNL2 Cali 2010 (Col). Thanks to this long experience Voodoo Souljahs have interacted and shared stages and festivals with different artis including Black Tought (from The Roots), DJ Premier, Talib Kweli and DJ Hi Tek, Bilal (USA), Rascalz, K'Naan, Nomadic Massive (Can), Black Uhuru, Protoje and Jah9 (Jam), Los Kafres, Los Pericos, Fidel Nadal (Arg), Alborosie (Ita/Jam), Aldeanos (Cuba), Manu Chao, Sergent Garcia (Fra), ChocQuibTown, Bomba Stereo, Sistema Solar, Sidestepper, Dr. Krapula, La 33, Angeles (Col).Its first musical work was launched in 2008. In 2011 released an EP and for this 2016 Voodoo Souljahs is ready to launch its brand new album called "Voodoo Party", inspired by the feeling of love and unity world wide regardless the ethnicity, philosophy, religion or any kind of social-cultural difference. This LP is the result of 10 years of constant work and 6 years in studio.Voodoo Souljahs is composed by a DJ (turntables), Saxophone (tenor and soprano), percussion, keyboards, guitar and 3 MCs who offer on stage a great explosion of energy, conscious messages and warm music easy to feel and enjoy (Spanish/English lyrics).
