Revolutionary. Luminary. Passionate
These words not only describe Keite Young’s music, they describe the man. Born into a musical and devoutly spiritual family in Fort Worth, TX. Keite began his musical journey in the church. With an evangelist for a grandmother and a blues singer for a grandfather, it’s not hard to see how the spiritual and carnal influences of Sam Cooke, Al Green, Bobby Blue Bland, Prince and Parliament Funkadelic shaped his musical identity. An ordained minister at 15, some of Keite’s earliest musical experiences were singing in the choir as Kirk Franklin taught songs that would later revolutionize gospel music. By age 19, Keite (along with parents Dalon & Carrie Collins) traveled the world performing on tour with Nu Nation. At 21, Keite made a conscious decision to commit himself to speaking truth to power which surpasses any one genre of music. He later went on to sign with Hidden Beach as a solo artist and released his critically acclaimed freshman offering “The Rise & Fall of Keite Young”. It was there that Keite found his own voice as an artist. Always evolving, Keite consistently challenges the status quo through an innovative sound that fuses gospel, soul, blues and rock n’ roll. At a time when the music industry and society are at a crossroads, the world is ready for a revolutionary. This is Keite Young’s time.
