Extraperlo is the Barcelona-native band of Alba Blasi, Aleix Clavera, Borja Rosal and Cacho Salvador. During 2010-2012, Aleix and Borja divided their time between working on their music and touring with canarian musical sensation El Guincho. Three years after their startling and auspicious debut, ‘Desayuno Continental’ (Mushroom Pillow, 2009) they returned with their sophomore album ‘Delírio Específico’, which was warmly received by specialized and general press and has resonated internationally in the blogosphere; specially in Mexico, Chile, Belgium and Australia.

Considered by national press the future of spanish homegrown music, their sophomore album met a warm welcome from faithful ears who endured the creative dry spell of the band through the years half of its members were touring worldwide with the ‘Alegranza!’ revelation. And it has been precisely the canarian musician who has left his sumptuous mark as producer, sculpting the hedonist dance and melodic rumination that swivels behind their weighed british neo-pop sound and the tempered retro-futurism of its mediterranean tropicalia.

Delirio Específico (roughly translated as ‘a precise or a peculiar delirium ́) is a splendid compilation of vivid pop songs that breathe warm embracive textures and inventive timbres through invigorating arrangements, spacious rhythms and very memorable melodies. It is a gigantic step forward for the band, leaving no one indifferent to its sound and earning its rightful place in the independent sector nation-wide. The resplendent cover of the album is work of New York Times spanish correspondent/photographer Adrià Cañameras and the ludicrous videoclip for their single ‘Ardiente Figura’ was created by the distinct imagination of internationally acclaimed directing collective CANADA, who through their record label division represent the spanish quartet.

Being influenced by bands like Aztec Camera, Dominant Legs, Orange Juice, Prefab Stroub and Roxy Music these nois (catalan word for lad or boy) have
fathered an album notoriously more mature than their debut LP, presenting an embracive labyrinth that invites us to ease into and rejoice each moment while living life with intensity and passion.

During 2013 they toured through Primavera Sound, SOS 4.8, Arenal Sound, Día de la Música, Próxims and played the London’s 100 Club. With only a few months running on this year the band has already debuted in Mexico, presenting Delirio Específico through Camilo Lara’s (Instituto Mexicano del Sonido) label Casete and playing both editions (Mexico City and Monterrey) of prestigious festival Nrmal.

And why Delirio Específico?

̈Love is a peculiar delirium, a romanticized delusion that absolutely blinds you and that should be ultimately eradicated ̈
