Ravish Momin is a versatile percussionist/composer/electronic musician/educator currently residing in New York City. He has received prestigious performance grants from Meet The Composer, The Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, US Artists International and Arts International. His unique ‘world-percussion’ approach has led him to also work as a sideman with a diverse range of musicians. Most notably, he has recently performed with pop-star Shakira on nationally televised appearances in the US on "The View" (ABC), "Rockefeller Tree Lighting" (NBC) and the "Rachael Ray Show" (ABC), and also recorded with her for iHeart Radio and Yahoo Music.He is also the leader of the acclaimed world/Jazz/electronic duo Tarana. They have performed at major festivals and venues across the world. Of their latest release entitled, "A Fire of Flowers Grows Around Us" (Wondermachine), The Big Takeover has said "“Blips and beeps dance over a percussive plane of sonic haze. It’s the same head-scratching genius of Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew, only updated for the technological age.” Momin is also currently also working on his debut solo album that will blend electronic and acoustic beats, while drawing inspiration from electronic music stylings as diverse as Batida, G'com and Juke/Footwork.
