Classism is a big problem in Indian culture that struggles to be addressed to this day. iyer is the irony of accessible music against obviously irrelevant caste and status. In producing and playing music that reaches out to a diverse audience across the world, iyer aims to break down the classist status quo. Drawing inspiration from a Singaporean upbringing, and having lived in several other countries, iyer represents a melting pot of Asian and Western music culture in the music he produces and releases on his co-founded record label, Phyla.
