Sedrick Thomas better known as Meek is by far the popular term a product of his environment, as he stated " I remember at four years old waking up from surgery reciting Ll Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out, on the contrary although I was inspired by hip hop at the age of four My close relatives would always tell me I would be a minister one day, so I would go around mimicking preachers radically in a joking manner. Unknowingly that one day that prophecy would come to past, Surely for Meek it would latter down the line, but just as any other great man of God who had to experience some of life's toughest hardships, as well as realize that a part from Christ and his kingdom life is meaningless. No surprise that linked to his deep passion for hip hop the street life seemed to go hand & hand. "I listened to cats like UGK, Z-Ro BIG Moe, Big Chief & felt as if I was no different from them, so if they smoked weed and rapped I did the same, if they sipped prescription cough syrup I sipped it. I was heavily influenced by the culture of hip hop. it wasn't until 2009 when a brother of meek's gave him a Lecrae's Rebel cd. "I remember listening to that cd and thinking to myself,,, Man this is not half bad. However my expectations for Christian rap wasn't that high to begin with. As meek went to church more and more he begun to study and work out his own salvation. He spent a lot of time praying and diligently seeking God and wise counsel. "I spent a lot of time around seasoned saints upon coming to the faith, I desired that wisdom and knowledge. "I can remember thrashing all of my former cd's out of the window... lol Forgive me Lord for littering... I do believe it was justified...lol. About two years into the household of faith meek was deeply inspired by Christian Hip Hop. Meek begin to do more research and learn about other faith based artist. "One day I stumbled across a Tedasshi cd entitled "Identity Crisis" ... That album did it for me... I could relate I felt the authenticity and could hear the freedom in being honest and vunerable in your music. Meek hadn't never known of rap artist acknowledging there need for anyone in there music especially the man up stairs. " I can remember telling my homeboy, man I think I've discovered my calling in life". Meek begin to find his sound and shortly after record his very first Gospel album entitled "New Creation" in 2010.. "New Creation was the beginning to something special say's meek. New Creation was practice for young meek, he struggled to bridge the gap between new Christian zeal and authentic southern roots . After a few mixtapes and a ton of features "True Story" was birthed .
