Champion of the melodic house genre, Cedric Steinmyller – best known as Klingande – has been breathing new life into the electronic music world with his impeccable productions and uplifting sound, cementing his reputation as one of the most refreshing and original producers around today. A welcome departure from the big room house sound that has been dominating the scene of late, Klingande’s sublime melodies have earned him recognition from industry heavyweights Kygo, Bakermat, Robin Schulz and Klangkarussel to name just a few.Returning to his hometown back in 2012, Klingande holed himself up in the studio, honing his now signature sound to unveil his delightful debut single ‘Punga’. However, it was his follow up ‘Jubel’ in 2013 that rightfully propelled the young producer into the spotlight. Truly embodying the Swedish word it was named after, ‘Jubel’ instantly captivated listeners with its joyous and uplifting sound, becoming one of the first standout tracks of its genre. Since then, the record has amassed over 100 million views on YouTube, an additional 17 million plays across SoundCloud and a further 51 million on Spotify, as well as taking the #1 spot in 30 countries to become the most Shazamed track across Europe. Fast forward to early 2016 and Klingande has just released his fascinating featurette ‘3 Years of Music & Love’, offering an insight into the producer’s journey so far, as well as teasing fans with an exclusive sneak peak of his new single ‘Losing U’. Due to be released in February, Klingande’s third original production is yet another captivating composition destined to dominate the festival circuit this summer.Unsurprisingly, it was not long before the burgeoning star caught the attention of talent scouts and tastemakers around the globe, and as the praise rolled in thick and fast, so too did the requests. Called upon by Thomas Jack to provide the fourth volume of his revered Tropical House series, his guest mixes have been applauded by the likes of Billboard and Dancing Astronaut and he has been called upon for remix treatments by everyone from Avicii & Wyclef Jean to Parov Stelar.A musician in the truest sense of the word, what sets Klingande apart from the rest is his dedication to producing unusual and mesmerizing soundscapes. Constantly introducing instruments not usually encountered in typical electronic music, his third official single ‘RIVA (Restart The Game)’ - released earlier in 2015 and featuring French singer Broken Back - even saw him experiment with the harmonica to almighty applause. Bringing his saxophone player to every show he plays, Klingande ensures this experimental attitude resonates throughout his live performances and it is therefore no surprise that he has been called upon to play at major festivals, from Ultra Music Festival in Miami to Tomorrowland and TomorrowWorld.Just two months in and 2016 is already on course to be Kligande’s most prolific year to date. With the release of ‘Losing U’, the promise of an upcoming album, as well as a live tour in the works that will see him bringing out musicians playing the guitar, violin, harmonica, drums, saxophone and even singers, Klingande shows absolutely no signs of putting on the brakes, making sure that he remains the one to watch.
