Genre:Americana
Haunt the House began as the solo project for me as I was dealing with the upheaval of divorce. I began playing open mics and trying out different song compositions on unsuspecting crowds at local watering holes etc. I released Rural Introspective Study Group ( a gospel based confessional) in 2013 recorded at Dirt Floor in Ct.
I had been in a two year process, give or take, of writing for Jack Rabbit Jones. (Folk Americana)
I wanted a greater sound so I asked a few well respected and talented musicians to join in the recording. Among those, were Allysen Callery a wonderful solo artist,Bessie Bessin ( accordion) of Castle the Band and more recently Warbler Roost, Amato Zinno (upright bass) from Vudu Sister, Lili Jean (solo psychedelic folk), Dave Passafiume, ( drums) from Icky Woods, Stephen Law (mandolin) Meg Beyley and Ryan Smith from Eastern Pheobes.
We recorded at the Columbus Theater in Providence. It was engineered by Ben Knox Miller and Jeffrey Prystowski from the Low Anthem.
Since that album release the band has had moveable members, mostly touring as a trio between 2014 and 2015.
We were thrilled to have the honor of opening the Newport Folk Festival 2015 on Friday of that July weekend. We released an exclusive two song ep for that weekend recorded at Slow Hug studios in Providence. I still play with my mandolin player and accordion player. It's very organic at this point but I play the bulk of shows solo.
