Florencia Núñez (feb 21, 1991) is a uruguayan singer and songwriter. Her first EP: “Estas canciones no están en ningún disco” (This songs have no record), released in 2011 on the web, includes five of her songs and got over 60 thousand plays.
Her first LP album, “Mesopotamia” (2014), was released by her own musical label “La Nena discos” after receiving the support of FONAM (Uruguay’ Music National Fund) and being selected by FI (Uruguay’ Cultural Incentive Fund). The album includes many collaborations such as Martin Buscaglia and many talented musicians.
Florencia has played and collaborated with artists as Estela Magnone, Franny Glass, Pablo Grinjot and Martín Buscaglia. In 2013 made the opening act for Carla Morrison on her first visit to Uruguay. Mesopotamia has been awarded as Best Indie Album in 2015 Graffiti Awards, where Florencia has also been nominated in the Best New Artist category. Also in 2015 Florencia received de Nacional Music Award in the category Rock, Pop and tendencies for her unpublished song “Pacto”.
In 2016 she received a new award: Ibermusicas Award in the 2nd Popular Song Composition Contest, which rewards a composer of each of the nine participating countries with a scholarship to the creation of six unpublished works.
